Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Effective October 6, 2026 · CLIQ.RENT launched on the web in October 2026. This document is under review by licensed counsel; material changes will be announced.
Welcome to CLIQ.RENT. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and CLIQ.RENT ("CLIQ.RENT," "we," "us") governing your use of the cliq.rent website, our mobile applications, and related services (together, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. What CLIQ.RENT is (and is not)
CLIQ.RENT is an invite-only rental platform. Property owners and managers ("Owners") privately list properties and grant access to specific people ("Renters") whom they sort into circles ("CLIQs") — Family, Friends, and Acquaintances — each with pricing and availability the Owner controls. There are no public listings.
CLIQ.RENT is a venue. We are not a party to any rental agreement, lease, or tenancy between Owners and Renters; we are not a real estate broker, property manager, insurer, or agent of any user. Owners and Renters contract directly with each other and are solely responsible for complying with the laws that apply to their rental, including landlord–tenant, short-term-rental, zoning, tax, and habitability laws in their jurisdiction.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. One person per account; accounts are not transferable.
3. Invite-only access and CLIQs
A Renter can see a property only when an Owner has added the Renter's email to an active CLIQ and enabled that CLIQ on the property. Owners may add, move, or remove people from their CLIQs at any time, and may activate or deactivate a CLIQ on any property at any time. Access to view a listing is not an offer to rent; all rental decisions remain with the Owner, subject to Section 7 (Fair Housing).
CLIQ assignment determines the price and availability window a Renter sees. Owners are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, pricing, and availability.
4. Fees, payments, cancellations and refunds
Listing a property on CLIQ.RENT is free. There is no subscription or listing fee. All rental payments arranged through the Platform are made in the app (by card, Apple Pay or another method offered in the app). CLIQ.RENT charges the Owner a management fee equal to ten percent (10%) of the rental amount (the "Management Fee"), deducted automatically from the amount paid before remittance to the Owner, and charges the Renter a processing fee equal to three percent (3%) of the rental amount (the "Processing Fee"), added to the Renter's total at checkout to cover payment processing. No other service fee is charged to either party. The Management Fee, the Processing Fee and their calculation are displayed before an Owner accepts a booking and before a Renter pays.
Founding Hosts offer (launch promotion). From 2 October 2026 through 31 December 2026 (the "Earning Period"), CLIQ.RENT grants an Owner (a) a credit of one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) for each other Owner who creates an account using that Owner's personal referral link or code during the Earning Period and whose first paid stay through the Platform completes during the Earning Period, and (b) a credit of fifty U.S. dollars ($50) for each person the Owner invites to a CLIQ who completes a paid stay at one of that Owner's properties through the Platform during the Earning Period. Each referred Owner and each invited Renter counts once, and credits are capped at one thousand U.S. dollars ($1,000) per Owner in total. A stay is completed when the Renter's in-app payment succeeds; a credit is reversed if that payment is refunded or charged back. A referral link may be attached to an account only once, only before that account has received a paid stay, and never to the referring Owner's own accounts. Credits are applied automatically against the Management Fee on the Owner's subsequent in-app payments through 31 December 2027, after which unused credits expire; they have no cash value, are not transferable, do not change the amount a Renter pays, and are forfeited if the account is closed or the Owner breaches these Terms. CLIQ.RENT may withhold or reverse credits earned through payments, referrals or accounts that are not genuine. CLIQ.RENT may end or change the offer for future stays with notice; credits already granted are not affected.
CLIQ.RENT may in the future offer Owners an optional subscription that permits direct payment between Owner and Renter outside the Platform (for example by Venmo, Cash App or Apple Cash) in place of the Management Fee. Any such option will be announced in advance, will apply only after an Owner opts in, and will never be charged retroactively.
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. Owners must onboard with Stripe (including identity and bank verification) to receive payouts. CLIQ.RENT does not store full payment card numbers or bank credentials. Applicable taxes are the responsibility of Owners and Renters; Owners are responsible for reporting rental income.
Cancellation policy. Each property shows the cancellation policy its Owner chose, which applies to every stay booked while it is shown: Flexible (full refund if the Renter cancels at least 24 hours before check-in; if less than 24 hours before, the first night is not refunded and the remaining nights are), Moderate (full refund at least 5 days before check-in; 50% refund if less than 5 days before) or Firm (full refund at least 30 days before check-in; 50% refund 7 to 30 days before; no refund less than 7 days before). If an Owner has not chosen, Moderate applies. Under every policy, a Renter who cancels within 48 hours of paying receives a full refund if check-in is at least 14 days away. Deadlines are measured against the check-in time the Owner set, at the property's local time, or 3:00 PM if none is set.
No-shows, early departures and Owner cancellations. A Renter who does not arrive, or who leaves early, is not refunded for the unused nights unless the Owner agrees. If an Owner cancels a paid stay at any time, the Renter receives a full refund and CLIQ.RENT charges no Management Fee for it; Owners who cancel repeatedly may be removed from the Platform. If a property is materially not as described, cannot be accessed or is unsafe, the Renter should report it within 24 hours of check-in or of discovering the problem; after reviewing, CLIQ.RENT may refund all or part of the stay. Stays affected by a declared emergency, natural disaster or government travel restriction are refunded in full under any policy.
How refunds work. A Renter cancels a paid stay by messaging the Owner on the Platform and emailing hello@cliq.rent; the earlier of the two is the cancellation time. Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within five business days of being approved. The Management Fee applies only to the part of a payment the Owner keeps, so it is refunded in proportion to any refund to the Renter. Founding Hosts credits linked to a refunded or charged-back payment are reversed as described above. Owners may always refund more than a policy requires.
5. Owner responsibilities
Owners represent that they have the legal right to rent each listed property; that listing information (photos, price, availability, amenities, fees, policies) is accurate and not misleading; that the property complies with applicable health, safety, and habitability requirements; and that they hold any required registrations, licenses, or permits. Owners are responsible for their own rental agreements, deposits, and compliance with deposit-handling laws.
6. Renter responsibilities
Renters agree to provide accurate profile information, to use properties only as agreed with the Owner, to follow the house rules shown on the listing, and to leave the property as they found it. Renters acknowledge that Owners make their own decisions about whom they host.
7. Fair housing and non-discrimination
CLIQ.RENT prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, familial status, national origin, or any characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law. The Platform does not offer filters or targeting based on protected characteristics.
CLIQ.RENT's private, invite-based model is designed for genuinely personal renting relationships. It does not exempt any user from fair housing laws that apply to them. Owners are responsible for understanding whether and how fair housing laws (including the U.S. Fair Housing Act and state and local equivalents) apply to their property and conduct. Suspected discriminatory conduct may be reported through the in-product Report tools and may result in removal from the Platform.
8. No screening; verification and consent
Access to a property comes only from an Owner placing a Renter in one of their CLIQs. CLIQ.RENT does not run background, credit, income, employment or eviction checks, does not ask Renters for applications or financial documents, and Owners may not use the Platform to request them. CLIQ.RENT is not a consumer reporting agency.
Any identity verification badge shows a check the user chose to complete; it is informational and not a guarantee of anyone's identity or conduct. Information a Renter adds to their profile is shared as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Your content
You retain ownership of content you post (photos, descriptions, messages, profile information). You grant CLIQ.RENT a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and reproduce that content solely to operate and improve the Platform. You represent that you have the rights to the content you post and that it does not infringe others' rights.
We may remove content that violates these Terms. Copyright complaints may be sent to hello@cliq.rent with the information required by the DMCA; we will respond to valid notices and may terminate repeat infringers.
10. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to: misrepresent a property, identity, or qualification; circumvent the Platform to avoid Management Fees on rentals arranged through it; use the Platform for discriminatory conduct; harass or threaten other users; scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Platform; upload malicious code; use the Platform for money laundering or other unlawful purposes; or create listings for properties you have no right to rent.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or as required by law. Sections that by their nature survive termination (including fees owed, content licenses for completed transactions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) survive.
12. Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLIQ.RENT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE CONDUCT OF USERS, THE CONDITION OR LEGALITY OF ANY PROPERTY, OR THE ACCURACY OF LISTINGS OR PROFILES. YOU USE THE PLATFORM, AND ENTER RENTAL RELATIONSHIPS, AT YOUR OWN RISK.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLIQ.RENT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE PLATFORM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE MANAGEMENT FEES YOU PAID TO CLIQ.RENT IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold CLIQ.RENT harmless from claims arising out of your listings, your rentals, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or misconduct.
15. Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at hello@cliq.rent and attempt informal resolution for 30 days. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction. (An arbitration clause may be added upon counsel review.)
16. Changes
We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. For material changes we will give notice (in-app or by email) at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
